WWD – Tokyo Street Fashion Gets the Blahs
Yusuke Koishi was featured in Misty White Sidell’s WWD article “Tokyo Street Fashion Gets the Blahs.”
The article considers how social media, cyberbullying, Olympic construction, and economic conditions were reshaping the individuality and consumption patterns of Tokyo street fashion. Koishi comments that while followers of Kawaii culture were growing older and being absorbed into the conservative fashion mainstream, younger generations were following something different, leaving Tokyo’s youth scenes in what he described as a chasm of transition.
